The current fleet of ‘108 ambulances’ will soon be enhanced with another 190 added to the total 650. The initiative will be launched by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Minister for Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare Satya Kumar Yadav.

In an official press release on Tuesday, Mr. Satya Kumar Yadav said that the new ambulances would replace the old ones, which were launched during the YSRCP tenure. The new ones will ensure that people in emergencies reach hospitals on time, Mr. Satya Kumar Yadav said.

He added that the new ambulances were painted according to the National Ambulance Code. The State government has handed over the responsibility of managing 108 services to Bhavya Health Services Private Limited, a company selected through the tendering process, he said. Around ₹27 lakh has been spent on each ambulance, the Minister added.

The new fleet includes 56 Advance Life Support and 134 Basic Life Support ambulances. The advanced ones will have two ventilators and other healthcare equipment, according to the release.
