Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar found fault with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s recent remarks against former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, saying the language used was inappropriate and unbecoming of the office he holds.

Interacting with the media at the BJP state office on Thursday, Mr. Sanjay stressed that the Chief Minister must maintain dignity and restraint in public speech and urged him to refrain from using such expressions in the future.

KCR responsible

Holding KCR responsible for injustice to Telangana in Krishna river water allocation, he claimed that it was KCR who agreed to accept 299 TMC out of 575 TMC. He said this was stated by then Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy in an Apex Committee meeting and asserted that the BJP was ready to make the agreements public if necessary.

Referring to the Kaleshwaram project, Sanjay questioned why investigations were limited to ₹9,000 crore when the alleged scam ran into ₹1 lakh crore. He also criticised the handling of the phone tapping case, alleging that over 6,000 phones were tapped during the BRS regime and claimed the involvement of KCR’s family.

On civic politics, he dismissed claims by Congress over recent by-election victories and asserted that the absence of party symbols in Panchayat polls made attribution of results misleading. He claimed BJP’s vote share and number of seats had increased significantly, particularly in Karimnagar Parliamentary constituency.

On GHMC elections, Bandi Sanjay said BJP would contest independently and was confident of winning the Mayor’s post. He accused Congress of planning an alliance with MIM and asserted that BJP’s objective was to make Hyderabad “MIM-free.”
