Coldplay was all set to proceed with their final shows in London at Wembley Stadium; however, a massive last-minute change has been announced by the group. Citing transport strikes across the area as the reason for the changes, Coldplay shared the update on their social media handle.
Coldplay reschedules London show dates
On August 30, the group announced on their social channels that the last two shows planned for September 7 and 8 have officially been rescheduled. In their official statement, they shared, “We’re sorry to announce that due to industrial action on the London Underground, we’ve been forced to reschedule our final two concerts of the current Wembley Stadium run”.
While talking about the strike, the group shared that they cannot continue since public transport connectivity will prove to be an issue for many.
“Without a Tube service, it’s impossible to get 82,000 people to the concert and home again safely, and therefore no event licence can be granted for the nights of 7th and 8th September,” they mentioned.
What are the new Coldplay London tour dates?
The Wembley Stadium concert planned for September 7 will now take place a day earlier on September 6. On the other hand, the September 8 schedule has been shifted to the 12th in order to work with the ongoing strike.
