BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Sunday (April 19, 2026) the actions of the Congress and the DMK in opposing, what he called, the “Women’s Reservation Bill” (Constitution Amendment Bill linked to Delimitation) will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

The proposed legislation will be passed and ensure significant benefits for women, he said at the campaign for the party’s Modakkurichi Assembly constituency candidate S. Kirthika at Sivagiri.
