Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State president P.V.N. Madhav on Friday (September 05, 2025) launched a scathing attack on the Congress and called it the “home of fake Gandhis” that ignored freedom fighters and their sacrifices.

Speaking at a series of programmes across Vijayawada, the BJP leader compared the alleged ‘neglect’ by the Congress with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiatives to honour national icons. He also reiterated the NDA government’s focus on development and people-centric governance.

Mr. Madhav started the day with “Chai Pe Charcha” at Krishna Lanka, where he engaged with locals on civic concerns and the performance of the government. He said such forums enable leaders to understand public opinion and shape better policies. “Every problem has a solution when people and leaders discuss it together,” he said.

Announcing key projects, Mr. Madhav recalled that the Centre had sanctioned ₹15,000 crore for Amaravati’s capital construction and ₹300 crore for flood-prevention works in Vijayawada. He called the upcoming Outer Ring Road a “game changer” for connectivity and highlighted that Andhra Pradesh had secured ₹10 lakh crore in investments last year.

At the BJP State office, a Seva Pakshotsav workshop was held in the presence of BJP National vice-president D.K. Aruna and other leaders. Paying homage to former President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on his birth anniversary, Mr. Madhav praised teachers as guiding forces and criticised the Congress for side-lining true heroes of the nation. He credited the Prime Minister with initiatives like the Statue of Unity and river rejuvenation projects.

Ms. Aruna said that Modi’s governance has earned global recognition and announced a month-long outreach campaign from September 17 to October 17 featuring medical camps, cleanliness drives, and exhibitions.

Mr. Madhav also paid tributes to Amarajeevi Potti Sriramulu, Pingali Venkayya, and writer Viswanatha Satyanarayana, highlighting Vijayawada’s cultural pride. Later, several YSRCP leaders joined the BJP in his presence.
