A woman who won a major civil case against Conor McGregor is taking legal action again. Nikita Hand, who accused the UFC star of raping her in a Dublin hotel in 2018, is now suing Conor McGregor and two other people.
She claims they misused the court process during his recent appeal. The new lawsuit comes just days after Conor McGregor lost that appeal. This case, unfolding in Dublin on July 31 and August 1, 2025, has raised serious questions about how evidence was handled and whether the legal system was used unfairly.
Nikita Hand sues Conor McGregor again over claims of court process abuse
On Friday 1 August 2025, in Dublin, Nikita Hand officially filed a new civil claim against Conor McGregor, plus Samantha O’Reilly and Steven Cummins. These two had been set to testify at McGregor’s appeal about bruising they claimed Hand suffered, supposedly from an earlier argument with her ex-partner. But at the start of the appeal hearing in late July, McGregor withdrew this evidence completely.
Hand says this evidence was false and damaging. Her legal team calls it “malicious abuse” of the court process through what Judges called a “mysterious” withdrawal of key evidence right when it mattered.
Judges commented that introducing and then dropping it at the last minute deserved serious court disapproval. The court also awarded Hand extra legal costs for having to defend against those withdrawn claims. On 31 July, the Court of Appeal rejected McGregor’s appeal in full, meaning he must still pay nearly €250,000 in damages plus legal fees from the original November 2024 High Court ruling.

Nikita Hand shares emotional response after Conor McGregor’s failed appeal
Nikita Hand, age 35, stood outside court on 31 July 2025 and shared her thoughts after the appeal loss and during the new lawsuit filing. She said:“This appeal has retraumatised me over and over again … Being forced to relive what happened has had a huge impact on me.”She also added: “To every survivor out there, I know how hard it is but please don’t be silenced. You deserve to be heard. You also deserve justice. Today I can finally move on and try to heal.”Hand was in court when the appeal was dismissed, while McGregor was absent. Three judges heard her case and ruled unanimously to reject his appeals on legal grounds including jury instruction wording and police interview statements and upheld the High Court’s original findings.McGregor had argued that his roughly 100 “no comment” replies during Garda interviews should not have been shown to the jury, and that the issue paper asked if he “assaulted” rather than “sexually assaulted” Hand. The appeal court found no fault in those points.
