Cops chase and arrest 2 bike snatchers after mobile theft in Kolkata

KOLKATA: Cops on evening patrol chased down two snatchers on a bike on Saturday evening within moments after the duo snatched a mobile phone from a victim in Gobra off Park Circus.Around 6:30 pm, cops from Tangra police station were on routine patrol along DC Dey Road when they noticed a man running behind a motorcycle carrying two riders, shouting “Chor Chor”.The complainant, Md Jumman (40), told police that his mobile phone was just snatched near Muslim Camp by the two men on the motorcycle. Responding immediately, the police chased the suspects and caught them in front of Muslim Boys' School.

The accused were identified as Vivek Roy (24) and Rohit Rajbanshi (25), both from Topsia Road South, Kolkata. The stolen mobile phone was recovered from their possession, along with the motorcycle used in the crime.
