Corporation to blacklist contractors for delays in civil works

The Thiruvananthapuram Corporation will take steps to blacklist contractors who delay crucial civil works in the capital, Works Standing Committee chairperson Medayil Vikraman told a council meeting on Saturday.

With only a few months remaining in the tenure of the current council, the councillors across party lines appeared to be worried about the possible public anger due to civil works remaining incomplete. All the councillors who spoke raised the demand for stringent action against contractors responsible for delays. Mr.Vikraman promised to take action, including blacklisting those who habitually delay the works, and asked the councillors to submit formal complaints regarding the same. He said that steps have already been initiated to blacklist three contractors for delays.
