Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has directed officials in erstwhile Khammam district, which shares its border with Andhra Pradesh, to curb the spurious seed menace with an iron fist.
He asked police and other officials concerned to take the cooperation of their counterparts in Andhra Pradesh to step up the drive against the menace.
Chairing a review meeting on Kharif preparations and implementation of various flagship welfare schemes of State government, in Khammam on Thursday, he instructed the police to take stringent action against those selling spurious seed.
He said the Telangana Formation Day will be celebrated in a befitting manner on June 2. Revenue Sadassulu will be organised in all mandals from June 3 to 20, he added.
Ministers Tummala Nageswara Rao, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Khammam MP R. Raghuram Reddy, Collector Muzammil Khan, and others spoke.
