In a significant incident in Lucknow, a man was caught red-handed attempting to withdraw money from an ATM by jamming a piece of iron in the cash tray. The event took place at an SBI ATM in Badshahnagar.

The incident occurred in Badshahnagar at an SBI ATM, where a man, driven by the desire to become a millionaire, devised a plan to illegally withdraw cash. On Tuesday morning, he inserted an iron bar into the cash tray and began intercepting money meant for customers.

The ATM company’s surveillance team spotted the act on camera and immediately alerted Inspector Mahanagar on his CUG number.

As soon as Inspector Akhilesh Mishra and Akbar Nagar Police Station in-charge Anurag Singh were informed, they reached the spot without delay and apprehended the accused. During interrogation, he was identified as Anant Prakash Mishra of Baba Ka Purwa in Pratapgarh.

A case was registered on the basis of a complaint filed by Jitendra Kumar Tiwari, a representative of Hitachi. A team from the company later arrived and recovered the cash that had become stuck in the ATM’s tray.

How Did He Withdraw The Money?

The accused inserted a thin iron strip into the ATM to trap cash meant for customers. When users assumed the machine had malfunctioned and walked away, he returned, removed the strip, and collected the trapped notes.
