Customs officials foil hydro ganja smuggling attempts, arrest two

In separate incidents, Customs officials at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) seized 7.19 kg of hydro ganja from two passengers arriving from Bangkok, Thailand, over two days.

On Saturday, the officials intercepted a passenger and seized 7.18 kg of hydro ganja, valued at ₹2.51 crore, concealed in a check-in baggage. The accused was arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.

On Friday, the officials intercepted another passenger arriving from Bangkok and seized 0.86 kg of hydro ganja, valued at ₹30.10 lakh, also concealed in a check-in baggage.

The officials said that further investigations are under way to determine the travel details of the accused and the source of the contraband.
