Cybercriminals arrested in Deoghar: Police nab 12 cybercriminals posing as customer care agents; Recovered devices and cash reveal extensive scam operations

Dumka: Deoghar police on Wednesday arrested 12 cybercriminals from the Palajori and Karon police station limits for allegedly running a racket in which they posed as customer care officials to dupe people through phone calls and online platforms.

Those arrested are Niranjan Kumar Paswan, Amar Kumar Das, Mahesh Das, Rahul Das, Mithun Kumar Das, Shokat Ansari, Asrat Ansari, Pankaj Kumar, Jaiki Kumar Mandal, Satri Kumar Mandal, Gaffar Ansari and Nurul Ansari.During the raids, police recovered 14 mobile phones, 16 SIM cards and other electronic devices used in cyber fraud.A special team led by Cyber Police Station in-charge Shivnarayan Kamat, with assistance from Sarath police station, conducted the raid and arrested all 12 suspects.In a separate operation, police arrested Rakib Ansari of Tulsitand village under Karon police station limits and recovered Rs 3.72 lakh in cash, along with three mobile phones and two SIM cards.
