Cyclone Montha: Body of missing fisherfolk washes ashore in Kakinada

The body of Gaddepalli Sairam, a 23-year-old fisherman, feared to have drowned during Cyclone Monha, was found washed ashore near Kumbabhishekham mudflat in Kakinada on Thursday. Sairam is survived by his wife and daughter. 

Kakinada Port Circle Inspector P. Suneel Kumar told The Hindu; “Sairam was feared to have drowned at sea while anchoring a fishing boat with ropes to a nearby anchoring point at Kumbhabhishekam on Tuesday.”

The police recovered the body and handed it over to his family after conducting a post-mortem at the Government General Hospital in Kakinada City, the CI added
