The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday reported the formation of a depression over the east-central Arabian Sea, while another low-pressure system over the southeast Bay of Bengal is showing signs of intensifying into a cyclonic storm in the coming days.

October 26: Light to moderate rainfall is likely in many areas of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal, with thunderstorms and lightning possible at isolated spots. Heavy rain may occur in Tiruvallur, Chennai, Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram, Ranipet, Villupuram districts, and Puducherry.
October 27: Rain is expected at a few places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal, along with isolated thunderstorms. Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, Tiruvallur, Chennai, and Ranipet are likely to receive heavy rainfall.
October 28: Light to moderate showers are expected in some parts of the state, with heavy rainfall predicted in Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, Tiruvallur, Chennai, and Ranipet.
October 29: Light to moderate rain is likely at isolated places across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.
