While a red alert was given for seven districts in Andhra Pradesh for Monday (October 27, 2025), due to cyclonic storm Montha, major rainfall activity has so far been concentrated in the two districts of Visakhapatnam and Anakapalli, while other stations in North Coastal A.P. have received moderate to heavy rainfall.
According to State government’s Directorate of Economics and Statistics, a realtime rain information portal, Jathara premises in Visakhapatnam district received 147 mm between 8.30 a.m. on Monday and 7 a.m. on Tuesday (October 28). During the same period, the stations of Kapuluppada, Seethammadhara, Pendurthi, Gajuwaka, Madhurwada, Anandhapuram, Paradesipalem, Akkireddipalem, all in Visakhapatnam district, have received more than 120 mm.

In Anakapalli district, Sabbavaram received 126 mm and other stations, including Rajam, Koduru, Gandhavaram, all received between 110 mm and 130 mm rainfall. These two are the only districts that received more than 100 mm rainfall after the formation of cyclonic storm Montha, between 8.30 a.m. on Monday and 7 a.m. on Tuesday.
A few places in the districts of Srikakulam, SPSR Nellore and Tirupati also received moderate rainfall, and some received around 80-90 mm rainfall during the period.
The districts of Krishna, Kakinada, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema, which were put on red alert as the landfall is likely to happen between Machilipatnam and Kakinada, have received light to moderate showers.
For Tuesday, a red alert has been issued for the 18 out of 26 districts. Except for Rayalaseema, there is a possibility of extremely heavy rainfall, more than 200 mm, at isolated places in these districts.
