More about ‘Every Brilliant Thing’
The solo play ‘Every Brilliant Thing’ has been written by renowned names, including Duncan Macmillan, with Jonny Donahoe. It has been performed across the world in over 80 countries, and it even has its own special feature made as well. The premise of the play is about a child who starts making a list of everything that he finds brilliant in the world after chaos ensues within the home.
The list comes at a time when he tries to help his mother deal with her depression.
The official synopsis for the play book reads, “If you live a long life and get to the end of it without ever once feeling crushingly depressed, then you probably weren't paying attention. Through adulthood, as the list grows, they learn the deep significance it has on their own life.”Duncan Macmillan, along with Jeremy Herrin, took the lead in directing the show.
Expressing his excitement about seeing Radcliffe bring the show to life, Macmillan shared that, “When Daniel told us how much he loved the play, I couldn’t have been more thrilled. He has the intelligence, quick wit, and charm to roll with the spontaneous moments that the show invites – he can be a clown one moment, then grab you by the heartstrings the next.
He has huge depth and humanity. I can’t wait to get started.”
