NEW DELHI: Delhi Capitals head into the IPL auction with a purse of Rs 21.80 crore and eight slots to fill, including five overseas positions, as the franchise looks to fine-tune its squad for the upcoming season.

DC have released a mix of international and domestic players, with notable names including Faf du Plessis, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Mitchell Starc, Mohit Sharma and Donovan Ferreira, signalling a shift in strategy and squad balance.The Capitals have, however, retained a strong core that blends experience with youth. KL Rahul and Axar Patel form the backbone of the side, while Kuldeep Yadav remains a key weapon in the bowling attack.

The franchise has also continued to back overseas match-winners such as Tristan Stubbs and Dushmantha Chameera, alongside Indian talents like Nitish Rana, Mukesh Kumar and T Natarajan.
