Delhi continues to choke in poor air quality with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 420 in Anand Vihar. The overall AQI was in the ‘very poor’ category on Sunday morning. Owing to worsening conditions, the government plans to carry out artificial rain in the coming week.

As per IMD, the possibility of cloud presence is on October 28, 29, and 30, and if conditions remain favourable, Delhi could experience its first artificial rain through cloud seeding on October 29.

While the AQI at Anand Vihar was recorded at 420, other areas are showing some respite in pollution levels. As per the Central Pollution Control Board, at Lodhi Road, the AQI is recorded at 287 in the ‘very poor’ category, and at India Gate too, the AQI is in the same category with 325.

In Vivek Vihar, the AQI is recorded at 205. Delhi government has deployed water sprinklers in several areas to get rid of the pollution.
