NEW DELHI: A 52-year-old woman and her two sons were found dead at their Kalkaji residence in southeast Delhi on Friday afternoon. Police suspect it to be a case of suicide. Investigators also found an alleged suicide note, indicating that the family had been struggling with financial difficulties.
After receiving a PCR call around 2.47 pm from G Block in Kalkaji, officers entered the home and found Anuradha Kapoor, 52, and her sons Ashish, 32, and Chaitanya, 27, dead. The incident was discovered when a bailiff, accompanied by local police, arrived to execute a court order for possession of the property. After repeated knocks went unanswered, police were alerted. The team entered the house using a duplicate key and found the three dead. A senior police officer said that a note recovered from the scene indicated the family was enduring mental agony due to financial and personal burdens, which may have driven them to take the extreme step.A background check also revealed that the family was facing difficulties even paying the property rent. The woman was a homemaker and both the sons were unemployed, the officer added. Legal proceedings are underway, and further investigation is on to ascertain the exact sequence of events.
