Delhi schools told to hold classes for primary students in ybrid Mode as Pollution Worsens

New Delhi: Amid worsening air quality in the national capital, the Directorate of Education on Tuesday directed all schools — government, government-aided, unaided recognised private and those run by NDMC, MCD and the Delhi Cantonment Board — to conduct classes for students up to class V in hybrid mode with immediate effect and until further orders.The order came after the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) invoked Stage III of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) in Delhi-NCR following a spike in pollution levels, with the Air Quality Index slipping into the "severe" category.

Several schools said they would continue physical classes for higher grades, as mid-term exams are ongoing and pre-board exams are set to begin later this month. The hybrid arrangement, officials said, is aimed at reducing younger children's exposure to toxic air while maintaining learning continuity.
