An Air India flight from Delhi to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam returned to the national capital as a precautionary measure, the airline said on Thursday.
According to a spokesperson, flight AI388, which had taken off earlier in the day, landed safely back in Delhi, where all passengers disembarked safely.
“The flight landed safely back in Delhi, and all passengers have been disembarked and served refreshments," an Air India spokesperson said.
The airline has arranged an alternative aircraft, along with a fresh crew, to operate the journey later today. The rescheduled departure to Ho Chi Minh City was scheduled for 1800 hrs.
Expressing regret over the disruption, Air India stated, “The inconvenience caused to passengers is sincerely regretted. At Air India, the safety of our customers and crew remains top priority."
Earlier on Wednesday, Air India cancelled three of its international flights citing maintenance and technical issues as reasons.
Two of these flights were cancelled after the passengers had already boarded the aircraft, according to the airline.
