Demand for postal ballots: HC declines to issue interim order

The Kerala High Court has declined to issue an interim order to enable over 20,000 polling officials in the State who were unable to cast their postal ballots at the recently concluded Assembly elections.

The court was hearing a batch of petitions, seeking steps to make available postal ballots to personnel who were on poll duty, and to extend the deadline for casting postal votes. An interim order is not warranted and is hence declined, the HC said.
