The Japanese anime film has managed to become the highest-grossing international release of the year in the United States this past weekend, setting a major record.As per Box Office Mojo reports, ‘Demon Slayer’ has taken the crown from ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’ officially, an action film that took the country by storm in the early 2000s.

At the time, the film had earned a total of 128.5 million USD, while as of right now, ‘Demon Slayers: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Infinity Castle’ has managed to earn a total of 128.6 million USD. It is also the highest-grossing anime film in all of North America, passing big hits such as ‘Spirited Away,’ ‘Your Name,’ as well as ‘Suzume.’ It also had the biggest opening for an anime film in the country, crossing ‘Pokémon: The First Movie.’

Records in Japan

The film has also been doing wonders in Japan as well, as it has already crossed the 10 billion yen revenue mark and crossed the record made by its predecessor in theatres, ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train.’ On a worldwide note, it has also become the 5th highest-grossing film of 2025 altogether.
