Denied new phone, woman pushes husband off terrace in Gwalior

BHOPAL: A quarrel over a new mobile phone ended violently in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior, where a 22-year-old man was allegedly shoved off a terrace by his wife after he refused to meet her demand.Police said the victim, Shivam Vanskar of Tikamgarh, suffered a fractured leg after falling from the first floor of their rented house in Char Shahar Ka Naka locality. Neighbours rushed in after hearing his screams, and relatives took him to hospital, where doctors treated him with a plaster cast and discharged him.Shivam had married Sadhana, a resident of Jhansi, two years ago. Investigators said the couple often argued over her demand for a new smartphone. On Wednesday evening, when Shivam told her he did not have the money right now, the argument spiralled out of control. Sadhana allegedly abused him, hit him and pushed him off the terrace. She also threatened to kill him if he failed to buy her the phone soon.An FIR has been registered against the wife on the basis of Shivam’s complaint, police confirmed.
