Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan has said that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s “zero tolerance approach towards criminals” was the need of the hour to rein in those threatening contractors and bureaucrats.

Mr. Pawan Kalyan was speaking at the ‘bhoomi puja’ of the ‘Amarajeevi Jaladhara’ water grid project, at Peravali in East Godavari district on Saturday.

The Deputy Chief Minister was reacting to YSRCP president and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s warning that those partnering with the State government for running government medical colleges in the PPP model would be sent to jail soon after the party was voted to power in the next elections.

Mr. Pawan Kalyan said, “Hardly 48 hours is enough for the Police Department to trace the roots of any group that is involved in threatening government stakeholders. The Left-Wing Extremist groups are on the verge of decimation as the government decided to take on them.”

“I made it clear at the recent Collectors’ conference that rowdyism should be dealt with an iron hand and we could no longer tolerate any group that crosses its limits on the social media while exercising the right to speak,” he said.

On attributing caste to every noted personality, Mr. Pawan Kalyan said, “We should not confine the contributions and sacrifices made by personalities such as ‘Amarajeevi’ Potti Sriramulu, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and Mahatma Gandhi to their respective castes.”
