Deputy CM reviews monsoon preparedness in Chennai

Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin on Tuesday instructed officials to ensure synergy among government departments while undertaking precautionary measures in view of the monsoon. Chairing a meeting at the Secretariat, he reviewed the steps taken by various departments and agencies to deal with monsoon-related problems in the city. He took stock of storm-water drain works, restoration of waterways and waterbodies, and measures taken in areas where inundation was reported in 2024. Ministers K.N. Nehru and P.K. Sekarbabu; Mayor R. Priya; North Chennai MP Kalanidhi Veeraswamy; Chief Secretary N. Muruganandam; Secretaries of various departments and senior officials attended the meeting.
