Devotees throng Lord Shiva temples on first Monday of ‘Karthika masam’

Heavy rain due to cyclonic storm ‘’Montha” could not dampen the spirits of devotees who visited Lord Shiva temples on the occasion first Monday (October 27, 2025) of the auspicious “Karthika masam”.

The devotees thronged temples such as Pasupathinatheswara Swamy temple at Ring Road, Mudu Kovellu at Fort junction and other places from the early hours of Monday. They offered “Ksheerabhisekham” to replicas of Dwadasa Jyotilingams at the Pasupathinatheswara Swamy temple.

Sarada Seva Sangham president Gudisha Shiva Kumar, secretary Cherukuri Sridhar, trust board member Gudisha Srinivasa Rao and others made elaborate arrangements on the occasion.

Sri Mukhalingeswara Temple located at Jalumuru mandal of Srikakulam district also witnessed huge rush of devotees. After having holy bath in the adjacent Vamsadhara river, they worshipped the presiding deity and participated in “Rudrabhisekham” and other spiritual activities.

The temple head priest Naidugari Rajasekhar and temple management committee members made arrangements for the darshan of the presiding deity. Endala Mallikarjuna Swamy of Tekkali, Umarudra Koteswara Alayam and Shiva Balaji temple of Srikakulam were decorated on the auspicious occasion.
