Vijay Roars After Stampede: Slams DMK Govt on Gang Rape, Corruption & Fishermen Arrests

This special report covers the first public appearance of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay, 38 days after the tragic Karur stampede which claimed 41 lives. In his first address at the party's general council meeting, Vijay launched a scathing attack on the ruling DMK government, hitting out at them on multiple issues including deteriorating law and order, women's safety, corruption, the Foxconn investment denial, and alleged security bias. The party passed twelve resolutions, including paying tribute to the stampede victims and demanding maximum punishment for the accused in the Coimbatore gang rape case. Other resolutions condemned the repeated arrest of Indian fishermen by the Sri Lankan Navy and opposed the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Tamil Nadu.
