With the NBA Finals just around the corner, players from both Oklahoma Thunder and Indiana Pacers are going through practice sessions and trying to stay mentally strong. Ahead of the NBA finals, Chet Holmgren of the OKC Thunder gets emotional after reading a time capsule letter written by his younger self.

The letter contained advice for his future self and what he had hope off him. Going through the letter brought back memories from the past, after which Chet said that it’s not a full circle moment yet.

On June 5, Wednesday, NBA and OKC Thunder posted a video on Instagram showing Chet Holmgren reading a letter that his younger self wrote back in 2022, when Holmgren was first drafted. The letter had some great advice for the future Chet, and as he went on to read the letter, he expressed gratitude and got a bit emotional as well. The letter read, “I hope you stayed true to yourself and the grind.

No matter the circumstances or the outcome, keep choosing what got you here.”

After reading the letter, Chet accepted that it was some great advice from his younger self and that he will follow the same going forward and would give the same advice to any of his peers and future players. He further went on to express that though it is not a full circle moment yet, he will be working harder than before. Chet further went on to ask whether he can keep the letter with him, to which the team said yes.

Holmgren is a 23-year old basketball player who plays for the Oklahoma Thunder as the team’s power forward and center. His massive height of 7-feet-1 gives him an edge over his opponents. Besides, he is the tallest player in the Thunder and as been showing great performance throughout the season. Chet was first drafted by the Oklahoma City thunder back in 2022 and has been playing for the team since then.This will be Chet’s first NBA finals, making it all the more special for the future star player of the Thunder. The OKC Thunder will face Indiana Pacers on June 6, for the Game 1 of NBA Finals.
