Doctor molested while walking back home after work in Bengaluru

Police have launched a probe to nab a man who allegedly molested a 28-year-old doctor while she was walking back home after her work on Wednesday (December 17).

The incident occurred near AGB Layout in northwestern Bengaluru around 12.50 a.m. According to the FIR, the woman had finished her shift at a private hospital and was on her way home when a man on a white scooter stopped her under the pretext of asking for directions to a bus stand.

An investigation office told The Hindu that the man then got off the scooter and began touching the woman inappropriately. She started screaming, following which the accused fled the spot on his scooter.

“We have taken up the case and are reviewing digital leads to track the accused. We will arrest him soon,” the officer said.

Based on the woman’s complaint, the Soladevanahalli police have registered an FIR under BNS Section 74 (assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty).
