Donald Trump is readying the White House south lawn to host a UFC Cage Match in June of 2026

Remember when US President Donald Trump said he had plans to host a UFC match in the White House a couple months ago? Well, that wasn't just him saying things, there are actually talks of an event happening next year, and the preliminary planning is already underway.

In a recent report by The Wall Street Journal, it has been stated that the show is most likely to take place in the White House south lawn, and is set for mid-2026, with fireworks and light shows.

What has the UFC planned for its White House visit?

As part of the celebration on the United State's 250th birthday, President Donald Trump said back in July, that next year, he wanted to host a UFC match in the White House. Then UFC CEO Dana White said last week that "The White House fight is on," and that they "got it done."

While he said he will reveal more information soon, someone else did it in his stead.

On September 5, The Wall Street Journal reported that the match will be set with several days of festivities, along with fan events, which is set to take place across the street on the National Mall. It has also been said that wrestlers will most likely get to warm up inside the White House before the match. And finally, weigh-in will happen a day prior to fight night, at the Lincoln Memorial.

The White House will possibly see a Cage Match

The White House UFC event will most likely take place in June of 2026, instead of the 4th of July, as the initial idea had been. The UFC octagon will be set in the South lawn of the White House according to recent reports, and the fight will be a Cage match. White House spokesperson Steven Cheung confirmed the news after the WSJ report, but additional details are yet to be revealed. He told The Hill,“This will be one of the greatest and most historic sports events in history, and President Trump hosting it at the White House is a testament to his vision to celebrate America’s monumental 250th anniversary.”
