A man allegedly killed his 4-year-old son after a quarrel with his wife in Uttar Pradesh's Bhadohi.

In a tragic incident, a heavily inebriated man allegedly killed his four-year-old son by repeatedly slamming him on the ground following a quarrel with his wife, police reported on Sunday.

As per a report by PTI, the incident took place on Saturday night in Guwali village in Suriyawan area.

According to Station House Officer Mohammad Shakeel Khan, the accused, identified as Ramji Vanvasi, returned home around midnight on Saturday in an intoxicated state. He allegedly engaged in an argument with his wife, during which he picked up his sleeping son, Vikas, 4, and threw him on the ground multiple times before fleeing the scene.

Family members attempted to administer first aid to the child, but he had already succumbed to his injuries, Khan stated.

On Sunday afternoon, the victim’s grandmother, Prabhawati Devi, filed a complaint, prompting the police to register a case of murder and arrest the accused.

The child’s body has been sent for post-mortem examination, Khan added.
