ABC’s decision to suspend late-night show host Jimmy Kimmel, triggered strong social media reactions. While many politicians and celebrities weighed in on both sides, former President Barack Obama too didn’t hold back. He issued a strong condemnation against this move, calling it a “cancel culture.” Responding to his posts made on X, popular streamer Tectone has now launched a fierce critique aiming directly at him and questioning his statements consistency.

Tectone makes a blunt response reacting to Barack Obama’s X posts

Popular streamer John Robert Robertson, aka Tectone, has been quite vocal about the current events happening in the United States. Recently, while reacting to Barack Obama’s X posts, he gave a strong reaction, showing his disbelief in the former President’s comments, particularly their contrasting tones.

Former President Obama’s first post, made on September 11, 2025, discussed the assassination of Charlie Kirk. He wrote, “We don’t yet know what motivated the person who shot and killed Charlie Kirk, but this kind of despicable violence has no place in our democracy. Michelle and I will be praying for Charlie’s family tonight, especially his wife Erika and their two young children.”

While no further posts were made by him after this, in the case, he again made two consecutive posts on September 18, 2025. In the first of the two, he reacted to one of the Washington Post’s columnists' claims of getting fired after Charlie Kirk’s death, saying, “precisely the kind of government coercion that the First Amendment was designed to prevent.”

He further even asked media companies to start “standing up,” instead of “capitulating to it.”

Discussing Jimmy Kimmel, Obama’s next post talked about how, for many years, the administration continued to complain about “cancel culture.” He further added that they have now taken things to “new and dangerous level by routinely threatening regulatory action against media companies,” forcing them to either prevent or “fire reporters and commentators” the administration doesn’t like.

Tectone’s reaction to all these posts was sheer disbelief. He openly exclaimed, “Guys this dude was our former president.”“What The F**k,” he added, concluding his post.

The entire Jimmy Kimmel Controversy and FCC pressure

This entire incident started with the comments made by Jimmy Kimmel on his show “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” While talking about what happened, Kimmel suggested that Charlie Kirk’s killer could have been a MAGA supporter. Such monologue coming from him, sparked intense backlash from many conservative figures.

The entire situation started to escalate as FCC Chairman Brendan Carr issued a threat to ABC. He even publicly suggested that the network take action against the host. Just hours after such regulatory pressure, ABC announced that the show would be pulled from the schedule indefinitely. While the news of the show being pulled off started to spread like a fire online, President Donald Trump celebrated the suspension of the show. It was claimed by him that Kimmel got fired for bad ratings and a lack of talent. He further stated that the host must have been dismissed a long time ago.

As per President Trump’s post on Truth Social, this cancellation was “great news for America.” On the social media platform, he even congratulated ABC for having the courage to take such a decision when it was necessary.
