The two suspects in the murder of a 25-year-old cab driver on the Suraram hillocks late on May 29 were arrested by the police. The accused who were identified as Mohammed Bilal, 32 and Mohammed Aslam, 28, both residents of Jeedimetla.
According to the police, long-standing personal disputes between the trio culminated in 25-year-old Syed Danish’s death. Bilal prepared for the murder arming himself with a knife that he had kept hidden in his home, the police stated. He shared his plan with Aslam, who agreed to join him. The two met Danish, who had arrived in his car, a white hatchback. Together, they drove towards Bathukamma Banda.
Tensions escalated after a heated argument broke out between the two. At this point, Bilal pulled out the knife and stabbed Danish repeatedly. Aslam then took the knife and continued the assault, before smashing Danish’s head with a cement block. After ensuring their victim was dead, the pair reportedly hid the blood-stained knife and Bilal’s clothes in nearby bushes. They then changed into old clothes found in Danish’s car and fled the scene. The police seized the murder weapon and the blood-stained clothes.
