AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, on Sunday (November 9, 2025), urged the DMK government to ensure the supply of wheat in ration shops in Tamil Nadu.
Citing reports that wheat was not available in about 12,700 ration shops across the State, Mr. Palaniswami pointed to contention that it was not supplied even after the Union government’s allocation.
Recalling his earlier alert over the reported shortage of tur dal and palmolein in ration shops, Mr. Palaniswami charged that the DMK government did not act on it immediately.
"It seems the Civil Supplies Corporation is in a deep slumber compared to other departments in the DMK government," Mr. Palaniswami charged.
The former Chief Minister, in a social media post, condemned the government's alleged total failure from the time of procurement of paddy till its distribution to the people.
Mr. Palaniswami further urged the government to take steps to ensure the supply of wheat in ration shops across the State.
