Milap Milan Zaveri’s romantic drama 'Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat' continues its run at the box office with a fair hold over its first weekend. The film, which opened to a strong response, has managed to collect over Rs 25 crore net in India within its first four days.
Numbers gained
However, according to Sacnilk, it experienced a slight dip after its big-screen debut. It made Rs 7.75 crore on Wednesday, Rs 6 crore on Thursday, and around Rs 3.05 crore on Friday (Day 4), according to early estimates. This has taken the total to Rs 25.8 crores in the domestic market.
'Thamma', the competitor
The film, released on October 21st during Diwali, reportedly collected Rs 3.79 crore on Friday. The clash between 'Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat' and 'Thamma' has created a face-off, with both films generating high interest among moviegoers.
'Thamma's earnings
As noted by the site Sacnilk, 'Thamma' earned Rs 24 crore on its opening day and maintained its momentum on the second day as well by collecting Rs 18.6 crore at the box office. On the third day, the movie experienced a dip in collections with the earnings of 12.50 crore. The total collection of the film is now Rs 55.10 crore.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui thanks fans
During an interview with IANS, Nawazuddin Siddiqui thanked everyone, stating, "Main bahut grateful hoon ki log ‘Thamma’ mein mera character Yakshasan ko itna pasand kar rahe hain (I am very grateful that people are liking my character Yakshasan in 'Thamma' so much).
Honestly, main bas apna kaam karta hoon… aur jab audience appreciate karti hai, toh bahut khushi hoti hai."
