Elephant turns violent during temple procession in Palakkad

An elephant turned violent during a procession at the Bala Murali Sree Krishna Bhajan temple at Kunnathurmedu near here on Sunday. The incident took place during the Sree Krishna Jayanti celebrations.

Three men were riding on the back of the elephant named Cherpulassery Manikandan as it went berserk. However, they were safely helped down by an elephant rescue squad.

One of the mahouts was injured in the incident.
