Elon Musk’s ex and Canadian singer-songwriter Grimes, backed out of appearing at the WorldPride Music Festival. Citing that she needs to deal with family issues, the 37-year-old vowed to make it up to her fans for the inconvenience caused by her.
Grimes cancels her Pride show
In the Washington, D.C. festival, which is scheduled to be a two-day LGBTQ+ celebration on June 6-7, Grimes was supposed to perform on Saturday, along with Troye Sivan, Kim Petras, Raye, Sofi Tukker, and a DJ set from RuPaul. In a post on X, Grimes gave an official statement about her cancelling her Pride show.
What did Grimes write?
“Hello friends, I am so so sorry and regretful to say I have to cancel my pride show in order to deal with family issues,” she said before adding, “I want to say that I am aware the situation has been a great inconvenience to the fans for some time, and I am truly determined to make sure this is no longer the case very soon.”“I think the show is still going to be amazing and the lineup is great. I hope this is early enough and gives people enough time if they wish to change their plans. And I *will* make this up to you guys very soon,” she concluded.
WorldPride supports Grimes...
While the WorldPride event has not added any replacement for Grimes, they acknowledged the cancellation and issued a statement supporting her decision. “We’re sending love and support to Grimes during this time as she steps away to focus on personal matters.
We fully support her decision and are thinking of her and her family,” according to Billboard.
Is Elon Musk involved in the 'family matters'?
The ‘family matters’ in question has not been revealed to public; however, the netizens are presuming that it involves Elon Musk. Previously, Grimes called out the richest person in the world on the app owned by him, stating that he has been ignorant towards his children's medical issues.
