‘Main kisiki help ke paise nahi leta’

Elvish Yadav, winner of ‘Bigg Boss OTT 2’ has finally addressed the NGO scam allegations that surfaced online after he appealed for help for a child suffering from Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA).The YouTuber, who had urged his followers to contribute towards a life-saving Rs 9 crore injection, found himself at the centre of controversy soon after another influencer raised concerns about celebrities being paid to promote fundraising campaigns. With speculation growing, Elvish chose to speak up and address the issue directly.

Elvish Yadav responds to NGO scam allegations

Elvish took to X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, and shared a video message to firmly deny taking any money in exchange for helping the family. He said, “Main har jagah dekh raha hu Elvish ne toh scam kar diya, paisa le liya. Sabse pehli baat, main kisiki help ke paise nahi leta. Agar wo mereko paise de rahe hain toh unko help ki kya need hai? (I’m seeing this everywhere that people are saying 'Elvish is involved in a scam and took money'. First of all, I don’t take money for helping anyone. If they’re giving me money, then what need do they have for help?)"He further explained that the appeal came through a close friend.

According to him, asking for money in return while helping a sick child was never an option.

Elvish Yadav calls the donation drive transparent

Addressing the scam claims, Elvish stressed that everything about the fundraising campaign was open and verifiable. He said the NGO’s barcode, fund-tracking details, and donation information were all visible to the public. He added that he had personally seen the child’s medical reports, hospital documents, and doctors’ details, which appeared genuine.

Elvish also said that he has no reason to get involved in scams, stating that he believes God has already given him more than enough.Expressing his frustration, he said, “Yaar hadd hai bhai. Logon ko bahaana chahiye ki kaise neecha dikhaya jaaye. Apne kaam dhande pe dhyaan do (Honestly, this is ridiculous. People just look for excuses to pull others down. Focus on your own work and business).”

What Munawar Faruqui said, that sparked the controversy

Earlier, Munawar Faruqui had shared Instagram stories speaking about fundraising promotions involving influencers.

While he did not name anyone, the timing of his remarks led many to connect them to Elvish’s appeal.Munawar said, “Hamare fees bohot zyada hai, and they were willing to pay.’ Pehle toh hum aise promotion karne hi nahi chahiye. I was taken aback. Ki dost, yeh kaisa kaam ho raha hai? Ho sakta hai asal ho ya na ho, lekin ilaaj ke baad ka paisa kahan chale jaega?" (Our fees are quite steep, and they were willing to cover them. To begin with, we don’t engage in this type of promotion at all. I was astonished. What type of business is this? It might be real or not, but where will the funds raised post-treatment end up?)”While Munawar did not directly name Elvish, the proximity of the two incidents triggered online debate and divided opinions among fans.
