As a part of the Statewide protest, the members of Andhra Pradesh 104 MMU Employees Union staged a dharna opposite Collectorate in Ongole, on Tuesday.

The local 104 employees had already issued a notice to the management regarding their pending demands during December 19-23 period. As their problems were not resolved, they took a mass leave to stage protests across the State.

Prakasam District 104 MMU Employees Union president A. Srinivasa Rao demanded the government to increase their salaries and provide casual leaves similar to government employees. He also urged the government to rethink on the present pooling system and re-appoint the 104 buffer staff to reduce the work pressure on the existing employees.

The union leader further demanded to implement the slabs for the 104 drivers who completed five years of service. He also asked to increase the salaries of 104 data entry operators to ₹18,500 per month as per the Outsourcing G.O. no. 7.

The Union members warned of escalating the protest if the government failed to resolve their issues.
