 National Seminar Ignites Holistic Student Development in Assam

Educators and scholars discuss student leadership and growth at national seminar in Assam

A One-Day National Seminar on "Holistic Student Development and Confidence Building: Preparing Students for Real-World Challenges" was held on Saturday at the National Institute for Teacher Education in Khetri, Kamrup (Metro).

The event was graced by a distinguished gathering of scholars, professors, academic administrators, prominent personalities, and research scholars from across the country.The seminar commenced with a lamp-lighting ceremony led by Binapani Majumdar Bharali, President of BEF, Khetri. Dr. Sristidhar Biswas, the Principal of the college, extended a warm welcome to the guests, resource persons, research scholars presenting papers, students, staff, and other attendees.

In his address, Dr. Biswas emphasised the importance of continued support for future seminars and conferences to enhance the academic achievements of students in Assam.The keynote speaker, Prof. Dulumoni Goswami, Head of the Department of Education at Gauhati University, elaborated on the seminar's theme, highlighting the institutional responsibility to prepare and empower students as future leaders of society.

Dr. Md. Baniyamuddin, Regional Director of IGNOU, Guwahati, underscored the significance of holistic development in building student confidence and commended the college's efforts to convey a positive message to the academic community through this seminar.

Dr. Mahanda Borah, Principal of Dimoria College (Autonomous), emphasised the roles of family and institutions in fostering holistic development and confidence in students.Prof. Kalyan Pandey, a senior professor at the college and chief organiser of the seminar, explained the seminar's key concepts and objectives, expressing gratitude for the support received to ensure its success. Ram Charan Bharali, Secretary of the College GB and Chief of BEF, Khetri, highlighted the importance of holistic student development for confidence building and pledged continued support for future programs.

Dr. Emily Pandey, Head of the School of Liberal Arts at ASBM University, Bhubaneswar, discussed the aspects of holistic development necessary for grooming students to become leaders in various fields of knowledge. Dr. Aradhana Paul, Director of A. Bose Institute, Kolkata, focused on areas crucial for students' holistic development.During the seminar, over 20 scholars presented their research papers, which will be published in the college's ISSN research journal, the Multidisciplinary Research Journal, as announced by Hemangi Thakuria, Librarian of the National Institute for Teacher Education, Khetri, in a statement on Sunday.
