Executive Officer J. Shyamala Rao has directed that high-quality, hygienic food be served to devotees at affordable rates in the TTD-run Big and Janata Canteens in Tirumala.
Addressing a meeting with the hoteliers on Wednesday at the Administrative Building, he was joined by Additional EO C.H. Venkaiah Chowdary to discuss upcoming plans and expectations for food service management in the temple town.
During the meeting, Rao exhorted them to provide qualitative food with a spirit of service rather than profit.
The TTD had earlier issued a notification regarding the management of Big and Janata Canteens on June 23. To address queries related to the Expression of Interest (EOI), the EO and Additional EO conducted a pre-bid meeting with the participating hotel operators. The officials reiterated that any allocation for running the canteens would strictly adhere to the prescribed guidelines and would prioritize service over commercial interest.
