‘Eradicating corruption should be everyone’s shared goal’

Hubballi Division of South Western Railway is observing Vigilance Awareness Week till November 2.

As part of the observance, Divisional Railway Manager Bela Meena administered the Integrity Pledge to officers and staff on Monday.

Addressing a gathering, Ms. Meena said that the objective of Vigilance Awareness Week is to promote ethical governance and eliminate corruption.

She emphasized that the week is observed every year to encourage integrity and honesty in public life and to raise awareness about the adverse effects of corruption.

She urged all government employees to perform their duties with honesty, transparency and accountability. She added that eradicating corruption should be everyone’s shared goal.

This year, the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) has chosen the theme, “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility”.

In line with this, Hubballi Division has planned a series of activities, including workshops, walkathon, discussions and essay competitions, awareness drives to promote vigilance and integrity among employees.

Senior railway officials from various branches were present during the Integrity Pledge ceremony, said a release.
