Pune : Esha Singh batted a three-way shoot-off to clinch bronze in the women’s 25m pistol even at the ISSF World Championships in Cairo on Friday. It was a well-fought medal and summed up a successful year for Esha, 20, who had won gold in Ningbo and silver in Buenos Aires World Cups. With this win, the Telangana shooter has qualified for the year-ender World Cup Finals. Esha’s compatriot and Paris Olympics double medallist Manu Bhaker finished fifth after losing the shoot-off to Esha and France’s Mathilde Lamolle.Esha had qualified fifth for the final after shooting 587 (294+203), while Manu was sixth with 596 (292+294). Esha shot 30/50 for bronze, while Manu scored 23/50. “It was a lot of pressure. But I didn’t think much about the result while shooting the shoot-off. I just focused on my target,” Esha told TOI .
