Union Minister Nitin Gadkari highlighted that court cases against the government are crucial for maintaining discipline in public administration.

Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has highlighted the importance of filing court cases against the government to enforce discipline in public administration. Speaking at the Late Prakash Deshpande Smriti Kushal Sangathak Puraskar ceremony in Nagpur, the senior BJP leader stated that a court order can achieve what even the government sometimes cannot.

“There should be some people in the society who file petitions against the government in the court," said the Union Minister.

“This disciplines the politicians. (This is) because even ministers in the government cannot do the work that a court order can do. Popular politics comes in the way of politicians and ministers," he added.

He underlined that the recipients of the ‘Kushal Sangathak’ award have been actively involved in such legal battles, challenging the government when necessary.

Gadkari, who is widely credited for transforming the country’s road infrastructure, said the ‘Kushal Sangathaks’ have filed numerous court cases against “wrong" government decisions, especially in the education sector, compelling the government to revoke many of those decisions.
