Ex minister Sohan Singh Thandal joins back to SAD fold

LUDHIANA: The ex-minister and senior leader Sohan Singh Thandal has returned to the Shiromani Akali Dal in the presence of SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal on Thursday. Badal welcomed him back to his old party and claimed he had gone to BJP on deputation for a few months, but now he is back to Akali Dal.

Badal even claimed that in the coming days people will see more people will join SAD because gradually a narrative is set among the public that now only Akali Dal can save Punjab.Thandal had joined the BJP in October 2024 during bypoll at four seats in the state, and he had contested from Chabbewal on a BJP ticket but he was defeated. Thandal has remained in Akali Dal for a long time, and after his homecoming coming the party leaders claimed that it would strengthen the party in Doaba region, especially among SC brotherhood.

Thandal expressed his happiness after joining back and claimed he had joined the BJP due to certain reasons but he never spoke against the Akali Dal or anybody else.

He said he is happy after coming back to his old party. While addressing a press conference here in Ludhiana, Badal attacked the Aam Aadmi Party by saying that the government is being run from Delhi, and CM Bhagwant Mann is a dummy CM. He said daily there are several news articles about crime, and the public is really worried about their safety.

He once again mentioned that when SAD will come to power again,they will cancel all the decisions done by this Mann cabinet especially the land pooling scheme which is dangerous for the farmers. Badal even warned the officials not to follow the directions of Aam Aadmi Party leaders blindly as after completing their term new government will be formed in Punjab and officials will be answerable for the blunders done by the AAP government.
