Faridabad Teen Blackmailed With AI-Generated Videos Of Him, His Sisters Die By Suicide

A 19-year-old college student from Baselwa Colony in Old Faridabad died by suicide after being blackmailed with AI-generated deepfake images and videos of him and his sisters, police said on Sunday.

The incident occurred on Saturday evening, when two unidentified suspects allegedly demanded ₹20,000 from the student in exchange for not circulating the fabricated content online.

According to officials, the deceased, a B.Com student at a local college, had been under severe distress for the past ten days due to the constant harassment.

A senior officer from the NIT police station said the victim’s phone had been hacked, and the accused began threatening him via a messaging app.

“They had created morphed pictures and videos of the victim along with his sisters," the official said, adding that a case has been registered and efforts are underway to trace and arrest the culprits behind the crime.
