Sugarcane farmers staged a protest outside the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Mysuru on April 18 demanding the immediate release of pending payments and warning of an indefinite dharna if their demands are not met within 10 days.

Led by Sugarcane Growers’ Association president Hallikerehundi Bhagyaraj, the protesters urged the district administration to direct Bannari Sugar Factory to clear pending dues to farmers.
