FIR against BJP MLA B.P. Harish for derogatory remarks on Davanagere SP in Karnataka

A case has been registered against B.P. Harish, BJP MLA from Harihar in Davanagere district of Karnataka, for alleged insulting remarks against the Superintendent of Police.

K.T.J. Nagar Police in Davanagere have registered an FIR against the MLA based on a complaint by Superintendent of Police Uma Prashanth for insulting remarks against her. The case has been registered under Sections 79 and 132 of the BNS.

Addressing a press conference on September 2, Mr. Harish had allegedly said that the SP waited like a dog at the doorsteps of the Shamanur family.

District in-charge minister S.S. Mallikarjun is the son-in-law of senior Congressman and former minister Shamanur Shivashankarappa who is the MLA from Davanagere South. Mr. Mallikarjun’s wife Dr. Prabha is the member of Parliament from Davanagere.
