The Punalur police have registered an FIR against the superintendent and three doctors of the Punalur Taluk Hospital following a court order regarding the death of an eight-year-old girl from rabies.

The legal action stems from a complaint filed by the mother of the deceased, who alleged that the hospital staff committed a grave medical error by failing to follow the mandatory protocols required while administering the Rabies Immunoglobulin injection. Despite the child receiving treatment at the government facility, her condition deteriorated, leading to her untimely death.
